ComEd Energy Efficiency Service Providers (EESPs) work with ComEd customers to identify and implement energy efficiency improvements, and help them receive program incentives, discounts, and rebates.

ComEd has teamed up with Walker-Miller Energy Services to launch the innovative Market Development Initiative (MDI)-a dynamic program designed to unlock new opportunities across four key areas. Driving the mission forward is the Energy Efficiency Service Provider (EESP) Network is intended to work with local contractors to increase awareness and education of the ComEd energy efficiency incentives available to residential, business and commercial customers to help lower electricity usage and costs and increase comfort by installing new energy-efficient equipment into buildings and empower local contractors from every community & background to expand opportunities across the energy sector.
EESP Incubator is designed to provide no cost industry development training, support, and mentorship to small, diverse-owned contractors, connecting you with resources and helping you navigate the energy-efficiency sector. The Incubator helps to establish a pipeline of diverse contractors operating in various trades who are committed to making an impact on their community, growing their business, and reducing energy for their clients. The program also helps contractors build capacity to complete energy-efficiency projects and facilitate the creation of local clean energy jobs that ultimately impact local economic development to grow your revenue stream.

Whether you’re looking to expand your business into energy efficiency or elevate your current operations, this is your gateway.
Eligibility Criteria
- Contractors (Weatherization, Electrical, HVAC) in business for at least three years
- Insured to do business in Illinois (Certificate of Insurance must be provided upon acceptance in the program)
- Certified Diverse Business Enterprise (DBE) or eligible to apply for diverse certification
- Committed to attend and participate in-person in a series of 8 weekly training sessions, every Tuesday, 4–6 pm from June 24 thru August 12
- Committed to participating in weekly one-on-one virtual business coaching sessions
- Willing to sign a release granting ComEd permission to use any photos and/or videos taken of you, your business and/or your logo during the Incubator for marketing, promotional, and other ComEd business purposes
- Able to demonstrate “Good Standing” status with the State of Illinois (copy of Certificate of Good Standing dated within 30 days of application submission must be provided prior to being accepted)
